Interior Office Design Project PLP – District 7, Ho Chi Minh City

1. Investor introduction
Preformed Line Products (PLP) is a global corporation providing infrastructure solutions for the power, telecommunications, and renewable energy sectors. With ambitions to become a trusted brand in southern Ho Chi Minh City, PLP places strong emphasis on building a professional image—beginning from within, especially through its office environment.

2. The Collaboration
As part of its expansion and brand identity refresh, PLP aimed to renovate its entire office in District 7 to reflect the spirit of “Youthful – Professional – Sustainable Development.” Le Vin Decor was honored to be selected as the design and execution partner after a thorough proposal comparison, design presentation, and close collaboration between both sides.

3. Office Design Process for PLP

Step 1: Information Gathering & Site Survey

  • Client brief: PLP envisioned an open-plan office that maximizes natural light and incorporates brand colors (white and turquoise) as accents. The space needed to convey positive energy, foster employee connection, and enhance productivity.

  • Existing condition: Located in a commercial building in District 7, the office features a square layout, high ceilings, and large glass windows. However, the previous layout had many partitions that limited spatial connectivity.

  • Functional needs: PLP required five key zones: reception area, open workspace, executive offices, meeting rooms, and a pantry. A strong visual identity was also necessary to impress clients and partners.

  • Design orientation table: Le Vin synthesized all requirements into a clear design direction table to shape the layout and concept creatively.

Step 2: Needs Analysis & Preliminary Design Proposal

  • Initial layout:
Open-plan workspace designed for flexible movement and functional flow. Work zones were oriented toward natural light, ensuring comfort and team collaboration.

  • Design concept:
Le Vin proposed a Modern – Minimalist style with light biophilic elements, including greenery, curved partitions, wave-textured walls, and ambient lighting to create a fresh, inspiring, and uplifting atmosphere.

  • Revisions to initial design:
PLP requested an expanded pantry to accommodate staff during extended internal meetings and emphasized the importance of a standout logo at the reception desk.

Step 3: Refinement & Detailed Design Development

  • Detailed drawings: Le Vin adjusted the drawings based on client feedback and integrated electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems to meet both functional and aesthetic goals.

  • 3D visualization: Key areas such as the reception, main meeting room, pantry, and open workspace were rendered in 3D, showing precise materials, lighting, and arrangements.

  • 3D adjustments: The overall tone was shifted from cool to warm hues for a friendlier ambiance, aligning with PLP’s desired emotional and brand expression.

  • Design finalization: A complete design package—including technical drawings, material selection, color palette, and reference images—was submitted to PLP for approval.

Step 4: Construction Documentation
Le Vin Decor prepared a comprehensive construction documentation set to ensure fast and accurate implementation by contractors.

  • Technical construction drawings included:

    • Office furniture: Modular workstations, reception desk, decorative shelving, and storage cabinets aligned with the overall concept.

    • Fit-out works: Engineered wood paneling, gypsum ceiling with spotlights, vinyl flooring, and high-grade paint finish.

    • M&E systems: Lighting layout, concealed air-conditioning, power outlets, internet cabling, security cameras, and fire protection—all aligned with the building’s standards.

  • Final construction set: All drawings were thoroughly reviewed to ensure consistency between layout and material specifications for real-world implementation.

Step 5: Project Handover & Supervision

  • Handover package: Includes original design files, technical layouts, 3D renderings, and all final adjustments.

  • Bill of Quantities & Cost Estimation: Transparent itemized budget, enabling PLP to manage costs and progress efficiently.

  • Material spec sheet: Clearly labeled material codes, color palettes, brands, and specifications for easy reference during construction.

  • Author supervision: Le Vin assigned technical staff to work alongside the contractor, ensuring construction quality and fidelity to the original design.
